This guy figured out how to run his TV at home with a AAA battery.  While I would think this will not work for too long I can see uses for this with my iPhone on the road or GPS and many other gadgets.  Its a very easy thing to build and super useful in a pinch.  I would like to see how it would work with a larger battery.  Maybe it would give you a bit more life.  Well here is another super cool project to save you a buck in these super tight times.  Hope it helps you out.
