4 steps to a no mess oil change!

I have had a few bad experiences lately having my oil changes at an quick lube place along with the outrageous cost of it in these super tight times. I have just recently , I know I’m a bit slow, found a way to change my oil at home with almost no mess. No don’t get me wrong this is not perfect but it is way better than crawling around under your car and is even easier if you have a Mercedes like I do with the oil filter on top. So without further adieu here are the steps.
1. Buy an oil vacuum - Here are two options, I picked the Harbour Freight version Harbour Freight or Liquidvac. This will cost you about $25 to $50
2. Pressurize the vacuum tank - this is just pumping the handle on the tank about 20 or 30 times until there is no more air in the tank.
3. Insert the suction hose into the dip stick - this means you hook the hose onto the little tube you pull the dip stick out of the check your oil level.
4. Release the suction hose clamp - you open up the hose and let the oil flow. Now remember that it is always better if the oil is warm so do this on a warm day or run the car for 10 or 20 minutes before you start.
5. Change your oil filter - now this is the messiest part depending on your car. some cars like mine have the oil filter on the top side of the engine which makes this very easy, if it is on the bottom of your engine you may have to do some crawling under your car and yanking.
Well I hope you find this helpful and hopeful can save some mess and some money at the same time. Drop me a line and let me know how it goes for ya.
